Chaz Briggs is great talent and a great young man he started playing basketball only a short time ago has come very far . He played only two season of high school basketball which in one he seen very little action in his senior year is where he started to show signs that he could be a special player help led his team to it’s first ever section five class A title . After he finish his senior season at Edison tech he sat out one year before attending Wabash valley college where he played for NBA asst coach of the 76ers john Loyer. Briggs started the season come off the bench before taking over the starting forward spot he had a great freshman season and start to draw a lot of big school for his service. After his first season under Loyer he played for coach jay Spoonhour after Loyer took a job with the Portland trailblazers. That season Chaz was one of the players to help led Wabash to it's first national championship with a very talented team.

Chaz signed for 'The Mountaineers' in August 2001 after National NJCAA title defeating Allegany College of Maryland. Played for 2 different Head Coaches during the 2 seasons at West Virginia, Cale Catlett and John Beilein. Unparalleled defender and shot blocker and very athletic. Finesse type of player with a variety of moves around the basket. Has good heads and seals off his men well. Because of that, a good finisher around the basket. Led Ncaa 1 in fg% at 74.4 senior year and 61% jr year . Runs the floor extremely well and is a proven athlete. High percentage shooter because he's very accurate and effective around the basket. Nice leaper and a good shot blocker. Has a nice touch on his shot and range to about 23 feet and in. Very active on the glass on both ends of the floor and is much better than his senior stats in college are showing. Very eager player who did get his foot into the door in Europe by signing with Myleasecar/Bergen Op Zoom in The Netherlands. Was a role player in college who blossomed overseas in his first job out. Did have an important role on a good team in the Netherlands. Was a defensive stopper in the front court at any position and was a ferocious rebounder at both ends of the floor. Developed the range on his outside shot to 23 feet and in. Played 5 games for Contern in Luxemburg at the beginning of the season but was forced to leave on November 1, 2005, due to personal reasons. He became available again by December 1, 2005, for the (European) market. Signed in Australia in February 2006 and played the entire season over there. Did extremely well! Briggs was one of the best all round players in the league Season ended August 9, 2006. Then played the next season in Antalya turkey where he help Antalya Win the Championship in the Turkish second division in May 2007.In 2007-08 Briggs went back to where he started his career in Holland with Rotterdam challengers Briggs had a very good season where he help a very young team to the playoffs and leading the league in shot blocked and finish third in rebounding .2008-09 Briggs retuned for one more run with the challengers and had a another great season finishing again in third place in rebounding and ranked one of the top shot blockers again Briggs showed much improvement on his outside shot and post moves and also showcase his ability to be a leader on and off the floor for the younger players .Briggs would be a great addition to any team looking to win games he loves to play and he leave it all on the floor every night . Briggs is a hard work who keep showing improvement in each season
Personal note.I coached Chaz for three months:
His weakness were his free throws.
We practiced this free throws every day during these three mont
He improved these free throws dramatically. and went from 48 to 75%.  Played in Korea season 2009 2010.

Outlook

A refreshing young man who makes that daily commitment to being the best he can be. He has great strenght and can score with his left or right hand in the post,he is also able to shoot out to the 23 feet and hit the jump shot. He will be great in any offense that has a pick/roll or pick/pop. James really competes on the defense and offense and is determined to never be out worked.  He is a very physical player who will provide a immediate inside prescence on offense. He is not a great athlete but moves well and always seems to be in the right spot on defense. Due to his strenght and positioning he always is in position to get the tough rebound and always crash the offensive boards looking to get another shot opportunity. Look for Mook to have an impact on your team. Has great hands, a smart player, a team player, hardworker and someone who will make any team better.
