Having on with my light-hearted dog theme, I decided to call it Chocolate POMerdoodle Snow Cream because well, you know … Chocolate Lab, Chocolate Poodle … and of course you like chocolate. Adding just a small amount of cocoa provides richness and depth to the ice cream, particularly if you utilize a high-quality cocoa. I used Scharffen Berger cocoa, which I’d received in my own BlogHer Food swag. I love both that cocoa and POM Fantastic pomegranate juice and I love this glaciers cream. This formula is normally both gluten free of charge and dairy free. It’s not sophisticated sugar free, but I really believe you could miss the brown sugar and simply use 2/3 cup honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar and end up getting an similarly delicious, dairy-free snow cream. (I wouldn’t use a one-to-one swap because of the liquid content material of those substances.)
Chocolate POMerdoodle Ice Cream Recipe
½ tsp surface cinnamon
⅛ tsp floor nutmeg
½ cup POM Great pomegranate juice
2 ½ to 3 tbsp ScharffenBerger cocoa (or additional good quality cocoa, amount to what chicken feet taste like-once mixed in, needless to say)
Mix altogether in a large mixing dish or blender.
Add to glaciers cream maker.
Churn about 20 moments until firm.
You might remove ice cream from ice cream maker and store in freezer for extra firmness, if needed. This recipe is not processed sugars free, but you may use coconut sugars instead of light dark brown sugar. Or I believe you could skip the brownish sugars and simply use ⅔ cup honey (or the same amount of agave nectar) and end up getting an similarly delicious, dairy-free glaciers cream. (I wouldn’t work with a one-to-one swap because of the liquid articles of honey or agave.)
