Here’s a fun and festive breakfast you can serve to all your family members on July 4th or any other patriotic holiday – Berry Patriotic Yogurt Parfait. These parfaits are super healthy therefore an easy task to make. They’re much like fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt but without all of the added sugar and with a hefty helping of new berries on top. You may be tempted to make use of store-bought jam to create these parfaits but I desire you never to, as it uses less than two minutes to prep the raspberry chia jam and you will be rewarded with delicious, special, tart, jam you’ve ever tasted! (The technique for making this jam works together with frozen blueberries as well.)

To help make the raspberry chia jam place 1 1/2 cups of frozen raspberries in a little glass dish, microwave them on high for 1 minute, and then mash them up with the tines of the fork. Add 2 teaspoons of glucose, mix, and microwave again for 30 secs to dissolve all of the sugar.
Combine 1 tablespoon of chia seed products and stir the mixture well before transferring it to a jar or additional storage pot. Cover and refrigerate the jam for a number of hours or right away. Since it cools, the chia seed products become hydrated and broaden, thickening the mixture and turning it into jam.
Following the jam has thickened, simply layer the ingredients right into a pint size mason jar and it’s really ready for serving. The diet facts for the Berry Patriotic Yogurt Parfait are amazing – 10 grams of protein and 9 grams of dietary fiber. However, most impressive is the lower sugars content. Consider this: a 6 ounce offering of one of the most well-known nationwide brands of fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt (blueberry taste) has 24 grams of sugars. An equal size offering of this Berry Patriotic Yogurt Parfait provides just 11 grams of glucose – less than half the glucose! That’s huge!
