Talk about an excellent “sweet teeth fixer” for summer season!

We have been in heat of June, and my hubby is a complete soda addict. He sneaks “the real stuff” when I’m not watching (that is like drinking poison to get a diabetic), however the glucose substitutes in the dietary plan soda aren’t good for you, either.
Before I leave the subject of soda, I have to let you know that Shasta’s diet sodas are created with Splenda. It’s very difficult to find diet sodas sweetened with Splenda, therefore imagine my enjoyment to find a whole type of diet soda sweetened with Splenda! Shasta is really a common brand – I have no idea if it’s obtainable in the eastern areas, but it’s worthy of finding (or ordering online) if you can’t think it is where you live. A nurse told us that Splenda is better for you personally (or should we state “less bad”) than any of the various other sugars substitutes. I’ve dealt with enough medical visitors to know you must take everything they say with a grain of salt (or sugar, in cases like this), but also for my cash, Splenda sits pretty good. I’m pretty delicate to artificial anything, and Splenda doesn’t trouble me or make me unwell.
OK, back to the diabetic lemonade. That is this easy, quick drink to make. When you have a naughty diabetic in your life like I really do (lately, my hubby has been obsessed with gummy worms – I swear, he chooses to fixate on foods with the highest possible carbs!! That is why my next post will be low-carb gummy worms), if you have a naughty diabetic, this lovely (and carb-cauliflower risotto gluten free recipe!) beverage will satisfy those sweet cravings.
Take note: Distilled drinking water is ideal for lowering high blood sugar levels fast. I keep gallons of it inside your home at all times (like I said, I live with a naughty diabetic. We frequently have to perform some crisis blood sugar lowering). In order to use distilled water with this recipe if you wish to. I just utilized plain tap water (we reside in the united states – don’t try that in the town!!) and it turned out fine.
DIABETIC LEMONADE
1/2 gallon water
1 cup lemon juice (the store-bought kind in the bottle does not have any carbs!!)
1 cup Splenda (add pretty much based on your tastes. Notice: Generic substitute Splenda, just like the Walmart brand, works just great)
Add the lemon juice and Splenda to your water and mix very well. (I put it all inside a gallon jug and shook it up – makes it appearance foamy!) Adjust the lemon juice and Splenda to your taste. This is not rocket science and you are not going to become graded – it’s performed when you prefer how it tastes!
Keep this cool and handy at the front end of your fridge, as well as the naughty (or lazy…) diabetic in your daily life will reach for this low-carb lemonade rather than a taboo soda pop or juice. If you’ve got an extremely naughty diabetic, don’t simply tell him (or her) that is diabetic lemonade – let him (or her) think it’s “the true stuff” and they’ll believe they got apart with cheating on their diet. 😉
Diabetic lemonade!
